Why Do People Want To Be Remembered?

Why Do People Want To Be Remembered?

Jezz Chung and Chella Man are two friends who both identify as disabled, non-binary, and Asian artists. Their work and friendship often highlights the intersections of access, community, collective liberation, and healing. The film highlights an impromptu discussion the two had after Man inquired one night:

“Why do people want to be remembered?”

Capturing their analysis on glitchy Google Meet, the viewer is placed in Man’s shoes as he must fully rely on the live captioning without sound to participate in the conversation.

This experimental film is an anthem of not only how intersectionality marginalized youth hold conversations of access and care, but how we are learning to hold each other in virtual spaces.

What does it look like to rejoice in conversations of access and care?
How do we hold these discussions?
How do we hold each other?
